This event was our first brewing-focused educational event. Jorge (Chewy) Amador of Macizo Coffee and Dynamic Coffee explained the basics of extraction, the variables of coffee brewing one can control, and how to brew with an AeroPress. Attendees then put these principles into practice by brewing their own AeroPress.

Origin Coffee Club and Its Still Coffee presents From Bean to Cup — an intimate, small-group coffee roasting experience. Limited to just 4 people per session, each ticket includes a hands-on demonstration and walkthrough of how coffee is roasted, as well as drinks at the event and a coffee that you roasted to take home! The experience will feature both pourover and espresso preparations.

Passenger Coffee and Origin Coffee Club co-presented this 4-course guided tasting experience exploring the Montecarlos Estate in El Salvador. The menu journeyed through a tea opening course followed by three coffees — the Foundational Bourbon, a Gesha, and a Pacamara — all from the same farm.

Origin Coffee Club and Constellation Coffee co-presented this Ecuadorian-focused pourover tasting on Penn Avenue. The menu featured two washed-process coffees from Ecuador: Counter Culture's Abel Salinas from Saraguro (notes of nectarine, blood orange, and tropical) and Amaya Coffee's Finca la Toronja from Loja (notes of strawberry, grape, and marshmallow).

Origin Coffee Club's second event of Season 2 brought together three Pittsburgh roasters for a multi-course pourover tasting and social at Cocky's Coop upcoming bar and restaurant in Market Square. The menu featured coffees from Dynamic Coffee Roasters (Honduras), Coffee Janu (Kenya), and Rockin Cat (Honduras).

Origin Coffee Club presented A Still Experience — a 45-minute guided coffee session at Dynamic Coffee Roasters HQ. The session was a soft brand launch for It's Still Coffee. Participants learned about the founder Jett's coffee story and there was a Q&A afterwards. The coffee served was both a pourover and espresso.

For this event we took a field trip and went to the newly opened Standing Wave Coffee shop in Southside! Having roots from a cafe in Donegal, PA and beginning its life as a coffee truck that roamed around Pittsburgh, Standing Wave opened its first brick and mortar on Sarah Street.
